The risk group includes women who chronically suffer from high blood pressure, those in a previous pregnancy had preeclampsia, and women who are overweight before pregnancy. In high-risk group, and women who are expecting twins, and women who have already pre-pregnancy suffered from kidney disease, high blood pressure or diabetes. It is considered ill five to eight percent of future mothers of this form of gestosis, whose real causes are not known, but it is always associated with pregnant women. Studies have shown that diet has no significant influence on the occurrence of gestosis.
